Night School Basic Astronomy Course
Our non-accredited basic astronomy course is designed for people new to the hobby or those who would like to broaden their knowledge about the night sky and its treasures.
The course is run by members of MSAS and covers various aspects of basic astronomy over a 6-week period, twice a year beginning in February and November. Each week will cover a different topic and, weather permitting, will include some night sky viewing through our 24” Newtonian Telescope or some of our other smaller telescopes.
2020 Course starts Friday 21st February and runs until 27th March.
Details of what will be covered in the courses are available here: MSAS Course Details.
Fees for the six week course are: Adults (18 and over) £50, Juniors (under 16) £25.
Juniors under the age of 16 can only be accepted if accompanied at all times by their parent/guardian who must also be enrolled on the course. If aged under 18, but over 16, you do not have to be accompanied. However, your application must be approved by your parent/guardian by signing and dating the application form.
